November 01, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) football club continues their dominant performance in this year’s Maritime Cup tournament, securing a resounding 6-1 victory over rivals, Blueche Lomado, on Tuesday. With the quarter-finals now in sight, the customs side looks poised to take home the trophy.
The match started explosively when NCS player, Superintendent Peter Tangulu, slotted home a goal in the 15th minute. He later sealed the emphatic win with another strike late in the second half.
In between, Assistant Superintendent I Bamidele Omodara made it 2-0 in the 48th minute before Assistant Superintendent II Munkiala Abubakar and Superintendent Buhari Sani added to the scoreline at 56 and 68 minutes respectively.
“This was a superb all-round performance from our lads,” said team spokesperson Akinwale Fatoki. “The attacking play was sharp but the defence also deserves credit for largely containing a talented Lomado side.”
With the tournament now at the halfway stage, the NCS side remains the clear favourites. Their flowing brand of passing football has dazzled fans all through, and they will take some stopping if they can maintain this form.
