Wolves took the lead in the first half through Mario Lemina, who finished off a quick counter-attack. However, Newcastle’s quality shone through in the second half, with Fabian Schar equalising via a deflected shot off Craig Dawson’s head. Harvey Barnes then scored a spectacular long-range goal in the 80th minute to complete the turnaround.
The result leaves Wolves without a League win this season and in the bottom three. Newcastle Manager, Eddie Howe, made three substitutions at half-time, including taking off Alexander Isak, which proved crucial in changing the game’s momentum. Wolves nearly doubled their lead when Jorgen Strand Larsen hit the post, but luck favoured Newcastle.

However, they have managed to accumulate 10 points from a possible 12, showing their ability to grind out results. The match ended dramatically, with Newcastle goalkeeper, Nick Pope, making a brilliant save to deny Matheus Cunha in stoppage time.
The win cements Newcastle’s position as early-season challengers for the top spots in the EPL. For Wolves, the defeat adds pressure as they search for their first league victory of the 2024/2025 campaign.
