SAN FRANCISCO, November 09, (THEWILL) –Â The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has provided an update to the squad sheet of invited players to the upcoming double-header African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.
The injury sustained by Frank Onyeka, who plays as a midfielder for Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland, has effectively ruled him out of contention. In his place, the Federation has invited Shehu Abdulahi who plays for Cyprus side Omonia Nicosia.
Abdullahi moved to Cyprus recently after signing a 2-year contract transfer from Turkish side Bursaspor.
The tweet from the official handle of the NFF (@thenff) was succinct.

THEWILL notes that the Super Eagles take on the Leone Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Friday, November 13, before flying to Freetown for the return game on Tuesday, November 17, at the Siaka Stevens Stadium.
