Trabzonspor Team

February 03, (THEWILL) — Two Nigerians made all the difference when Trabzonspor beat Fethiyespor 3-0 in their Turkish Cup Group A fixture at Papara Park on Tuesday evening. Anthony Nwakaeme set up the opening goal before scoring himself, while Paul Onuachu added the second in a decisive eight-minute spell that killed off the contest.

The hosts dominated possession during the opening 45 minutes but could not convert their superiority into goals before half-time. Fethiyespor looked to have grabbed a shock 63rd-minute lead through Muhammed Rasit Yondem, only for the video assistant referee to rule the effort out for offside. That decision proved crucial in shifting momentum back towards the Super Lig side.

Ernest Muci finally broke through in the 69th minute, finishing from close range after Nwakaeme’s precise delivery. The Black Sea Storm doubled their advantage eight minutes later when Onuachu converted another cross, before Nwakaeme himself wrapped up the scoring in the 79th minute.
