April 03, (THEWILL) – Nike has released the home and away kits for Nigeria’s Senior women’s National team, Super Falcons, ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The home kit is electric green and features a bespoke pattern inspired by traditional Nigerian artwork, while the away kit is a darker forest green that combines modern shapes with traditional prints paying homage to the team’s “Super Falcons” name.
Nike also unveiled the kits of 12 other women’s national teams competing at the tournament, which runs from July 20 to August 20 in Australia and New Zealand.
THEWILL recalls that the Super Falcons are drawn in Group B and will face Australia, Canada, and the Republic of Ireland at the World Cup. Nigeria reached the Round of 16 in the tournament’s previous edition before losing to Germany. Coach Randy Waldrum’s side is expected to don the newly released kits at the global showpiece.
The team has struggled recently, but a 1-0 win over Costa Rica ended a run of seven consecutive defeats. This week, the Nigerian women’s team will play two friendly games against Haiti and New Zealand. With the tournament just three months away, the Super Falcons will hope for better results and improved performance compared to the previous edition.
