March 31, (THEWILL) – Nike has secured a deal to re-sign Manchester City forward, Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian’s previous agreement with the sportswear giant expired in January 2022, prompting a search for a new deal. Haaland is known for his meticulous approach and reportedly prioritized the quality of Nike’s products when making his decision.
Despite being spotted wearing boots from various manufacturers since his previous deal expired, Haaland has now re-committed to Nike exclusively. A statement from the company hailed Haaland’s “unprecedented rise through European Club football”, highlighting his “goal-scoring instinct, power, positioning, pace and precision.”
Haaland’s Man City teammate, Jack Grealish, recently left Nike in favour of Puma, while other high-profile players like Neymar and Raheem Sterling, have also struck alternative deals.
Nevertheless, Nike remains a leading brand in the world of sports, with a star-studded roster of athletes including Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford and Kevin De Bruyne. They also have female stars including FIFA Best Alexia Putellas, Ada Hegerberg, Leah Williamson, Megan Rapinoe and Sam Kerr.
