July 19, (THEWILL) – Actress Nkechi Blessing is not happy that some people are criticising her colleagues, who are actively involved in politics.
Some of her colleagues, the likes of Funke Akindele, Caroline Danjuma, Tonto Dikeh, Femi Branch, are running mates to some gubernatorial aspirants in various political parties.
Their emergence has been hugely criticised by fans who stated that politics is not the same thing as acting a movie scene.
Blessing took to social media to call those who do not believe in her colleagues’ political ambition. She accused them of being hypocritic.
She added that those who have signified interest in political posts should be supported, instead of being attacked and abused.
“Some Nigerians are hypocrites, if anything goes wrong in the country now, maybe there is a case of kidnapping, killings and all.
You all will be clamouring and asking, where are our celebrites, they are not talking now, they are keeping quiet, they have paid them, bla bla bla.
“But some of the celebrites that you people used to call all the time to come to your rescue are now getting involved.
“They are not only lending their voices, they are also getting involved, then you guys changed the story.
“Do you think it is Nollywood? Is this a joke to you? Is politics a joke to you?
“What exactly do you people want? You that can use your own hand, your own voice and speak for the government to listen to you, you are not participating in politics.
“The celebrites you have been calling over the years are now getting involved and you are now making it a joke.
“Come on! What exactly do you people want? I don’t want to say anything about it until I get to Nigeria.
“Now, when I get to Nigeria, you people will still say I sit down for America dey talk about politics, guys come on!
“I am super proud of every celebrity out there coming out for politics, especially the females, who are coming out to be deputy governors.
“They are coming out to tackle the problems from where you think it is pinching because you are the ones calling them. Any simple thing, you will say where are the celebrites?
“They have come out now and they are getting involved because they want to tackle the issues keeping Nigerians like this from the grassroots.
“Forget the fact that they are entertainers. All the people that have been coming out, the likes of Funke Akindele, Tonto Dikeh, Carolina Danjuma, they are the people that have senses.
“They all went to school, they are well respected. Maybe if it is someone like me now, you will say that I didn’t go to school, do you think it is a joke?
“They are people that have sense and you people are asking if it is Nollywood that they are doing in politics, it will take time before you people will get sense”, she stated.
