
May 09, (THEWILL) – Movie practitioners in Enugu State have staged a football match in celebration of Enugu State Governor-elect, Dr Peter Mbah, and his deputy, Ifeanyi Ossai’s victory in the just concluded governorship election in the State.
The novelty match, tagged “Peter Mbah/Ossai victory match”, was organised by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
It was staged between Nollywood and Boolu Ogbe Ambassadors, a coal city football team. The match was held at Rangers Training Field, Liberty Estate, Enugu.
The teams played out a goalless draw after 90 minutes, but Boolu Ogbe Ambassadors finally won the match by 4-2 in a penalty shootout.
Speaking about the match, the Chairman, AGN, Enugu Chapter, Comrade Brown Ene, revealed that the essence of the match was to celebrate Mbah, as well as a way of appreciating his great plan for the creative industry in the state.
He added that the guild had before the election visited the Enugu governor-elect, who promised them so many things that would transform the face of Nollywood in the state.
