February 18, (THEWILL) – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has announced its list of finalists for induction in 2023, which includes big names such as Dirk Nowitzki, Gregg Popovich and Dwyane Wade.

The NBA announced the list on Friday, with the enshrinement ceremony scheduled for August 11 at Symphony Hall in Springfield, Massachusetts. Also among the finalists are Gene Bess, David Hixon, Gene Keady, and Tony Parker, who join the Hall’s North American committee.

Meanwhile, Marian Washington and Gary Blair round out the Women’s committee, along with Becky Hammon and Jennifer Azzi. Many of the finalists are vying for induction on their first attempt, including Wade, Nowitzki, Popovich, Gasol, and Parker. Wade, a three-time NBA champion and 13-time All-Star, is among the most accomplished on the list.

Popovich, who still coaches the San Antonio Spurs, is the winningest coach in NBA history with 1,358 wins, and has also guided Team USA to Olympic gold.
