Rangers vs Enyimba

December 03, (THEWILL) – Enugu Rangers took a valuable point away from home as they held Enyimba to a goalless draw in the season’s first Oriental Derby on Tuesday.

The match, played at the Enyimba International Stadium, was a closely contested affair with both sides creating limited scoring opportunities.

Enyimba, the home side, enjoyed a greater share of possession and attempted more shots on goal, but they were unable to break down a resolute Rangers defence.

The Flying Antelopes, as Rangers are known, defended resolutely and relied on counter-attacks to threaten the Enyimba goal.

The draw leaves Enyimba in sixth place in the NPFL table with 21 points from 13 matches, while Rangers, the defending champions, are fourth with 24 points from 15 games.

Both teams will be aiming to improve their positions in the league as the season progresses.

The Oriental Derby is one of the most fiercely contested rivalries in Nigerian football, and the goalless draw was a fair result on the day.
