August 12, (THEWILL) – On November 18, Patricky Pitbull will face off against Usman Nurmagomedov for the first time while defending his Bellator lightweight championship.
The location of the card and an official announcement have not yet been made by Bellator but THEWILL recalls that Pitbull (24-10) defeated Peter Queally in November last year to win the vacant championship that had previously belonged to his brother Patricio Pitbull.
This past July, the veteran Brazilian was scheduled to defend it against Sidney Outlaw, but the latter withdrew due to an injury. Outlaw later faced Tofiq Musayev and was defeated.
The 24-year-old Nurmagomedov (15-0), who is a cousin to the former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, has competed four times under the Bellator brand, winning all three of his previous fights against Manny Muro, Patrik Pietila, and Chris Gonzalez in the first round.
