July 16, (THEWILL) – Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has asked the State House of Assembly to screen and confirm six nominees for appointment as commissioners and members of the State Executive Council.
House Speaker, Emomotimi Guwor, who disclosed this in a letter read at plenary on Tuesday, listed the nominees as Val Arevenka, Peter Uviejitobor, Trakiriowei Harry ThankGod, Ebikeme Clark, Sunday Tataobuzogwu and Okocha Nduka Benjamin.
The Governor said the nomination was in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 192 (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (1999 as Amended).
“I will greatly appreciate if early action is taken to place the names of the nominees before the Honourable House for consideration and confirmation to enable me to effect their appointments in line with the Constitution,” he added.
The nominees have been asked to submit 35 copies of their curriculum vitae on or before the close of work on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, and appear for screening on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
