August 16, (THEWILL) – Tottenham Hotspur have signed French winger Wilson Odobert from Burnley for an undisclosed fee. The 19-year-old has agreed to a five-year contract with the north London club, marking his swift return to the English Premier League following Burnley’s relegation last season.

Odobert caught Tottenham’s attention after an impressive debut campaign in England. He made 34 appearances for Burnley, scoring five goals. Notably, he became the Clarets’ youngest EPL goalscorer when he netted against Chelsea in October.

The young winger now joins Tottenham’s quest to finish in the EPL’s top four, having narrowly missed out last season with a fifth-place finish. Tottenham announced the signing in a statement, saying: “We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement for the permanent transfer of Wilson Odobert from Burnley, subject to formalities.”

Odobert’s contract with Tottenham runs until 2029, and he will wear shirt number 28. The French teenager could make his debut for the club in their EPL opener against Leicester City on Monday.

This transfer sees Odobert trade Burnley’s promotion ambitions for Tottenham’s top-four aspirations. His addition to the squad brings youth and potential to Tottenham’s attacking options for the 2024/2025 season.
