May 04, (THEWILL) – West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur played out a 1-1 draw in a match that failed to meet expectations at the London Stadium on Sunday. The result left both teams with a point each in their last few matches of the current campaign.
Tottenham broke the deadlock after 15 minutes when Max Kilman, who joined West Ham for £40m from Wolves last summer, lost possession to Mathys Tel. The final stages saw West Ham nearly claim victory when Bowen’s glancing header forced a save from Vicario, followed by James Ward-Prowse’s stoppage-time free-kick which narrowly missed the target. Tottenham, who defeated Bodo/Glimt 3-1 in their Europa League semi-final first leg on Thursday, will feel disappointed not to have built on that momentum.
