January 01, (THEWILL) – Watford goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has revealed that he is open to returning to the Dutch League amid limited opportunities with the English club.
The 23-year-old joined Watford, to become one of four Super Eagles’ players in the EPL club, from Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam in the summer but has yet to make a single appearance for the London club in league matches.
He has only featured once for Watford in the Carabao Cup, during a defeat to MK Dons. Okoye had a successful two-year stint with Sparta Rotterdam on loan and there are reports that he could return to the Eredivisie when the transfer window reopens in January as he intends to get more minutes under his belt.
Speaking recently about these reports, Okoye said, “The Eredivisie? Yes, that sounds like something to me. The clubs in the Netherlands know me well from Sparta and know what they can do with me. We’ll see.”
However, Okoye tried to return media focus to the present situation, saying: “For now I’m just focusing completely on Watford and the games we’re going to play.”
