September 26, (THEWILL) – Super Eagles striker, Paul Onuachu, netted a goal and provided an assist, but Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scored late to guide Hatayspor to an exciting 3-2 win over Trabzonspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

Onuachu found the net on his debut for Trabzonspor in their 3-0 victory over Besiktas, and he looked to keep up that form when they visited Mersin Stadyumu to face Hatayspor. Meanwhile, Dele-Bashiru was in the starting XI for the home side.

The first half was largely even, with just six shots on target between the two teams. However, Trabzonspor finally went ahead in the 44th minute, with Onuachu involved. The Nigeria international got on the end of a cross and cushioned it down with his head for Edin Visca, who fired a good shot past Hatayspor’s goalkeeper Erce Kardesler.

Trabzonspor managed to take their lead into half-time, but the second half saw plenty of action in front of goal. In the 62nd minute, Onuachu displayed his striker’s instinct, latching onto a loose ball in the box and hammering it home from close range to make it 2-0. The Super Eagles hitman was substituted for Enis Destan four minutes later.

In the 72nd minute, Hatayspor pulled one back through Rigoberto Rivas with an assist from Dele-Bashiru. Then, with regulation time almost done, Didier Lamkel Ze equalised for the home side. It looked set to end in a draw, but Dele-Bashiru had other ideas. Hatayspor counterattacked quickly with the Nigerian attacking midfielder. He drove into the box, cut inside, and curled a nice shot into the net to make it 3-2 and seal the win for the hosts.
