January 19, (THEWILL) – Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has been appointed as the grand patron of Zuma Film Festival.
It was disclosed in a statement released by Brian Etuk, director of public affairs, Nigerian Film Cooperation on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
The Revered monarch while speaking about the development expressed willingness to explore the most practical alliance with the Nigeria Film Cooperation(NFC) in resetting the nations film industry as the bedrock of national identity, wealth creation and a viable export system.
Ooni also stated that the Nigeria Film industry has demonstrated it’s pragmatic and most dominant influence in the preservation of cultural heritage and identity and it is undoubtedly shaping the nation’s economy through creation of jobs.
He urged stakeholders to build on the legacies of those who laid the foundation of the film industry. He commended NFC’s managing director and Chief Executive Officer, Chidia Maduekwe for his transformational leadership which has characterized the film agency’s unparalleled commitment towards the sustainable development of the Nigeria’s film industry.
