November 27, (THEWILL) – Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has been honoured with a degree of Doctor of Letters, Honoris Causa, LLD by Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, ABUAD.
The development was confirmed in a statement released by the Ooni’s palace a few days ago. The award ceremony took place during the commemoration of the institution’s 12 years anniversary and 9th convocation ceremony a few days ago.
The Imperial Majesty, was honoured for his contribution to the development of education in Nigeria, particularly through ABUAD. Worthy of note is Ooni of Ife’s partnership in medical research which led to the production and distribution of some National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control’s approved drugs.
Speaking about the development, the traditional ruler thanked the proprietor of the institution, Aare Afe Babalola. He called for the establishment of Afe Babalola Theories in major institutions across the country just like how Sir Issac Newton, and other western scholars are taught in some institutions.
