June 15, (THEWILL) – The Founder of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, has forgiven former security boys, Happie Boys, who came online to accuse him of abandoning them in Cyprus.
The clergyman flew them to Cyprus on scholarship after they were sacked from an eatery they were previously working for recording themselves dancing while on duty and posting the video online.
In a post shared online on Tuesday, the boys alleged that the clergyman had abandoned them. They alleged that he took care of them for six months when they got to Cyprus and abandoned them thereafter. They also shared a voice note of the clergyman cursing them.
Narrating his own side of the story, the clergyman took to Facebook to explain that he was unable to pay the school fees of Happie Boys and other beneficiaries of his scholarship due to the high foreign exchange rate.
The clergyman said he has forgiven Happie Boys and will restore their scholarship but they would have to return to Nigeria or the Benin Republic to continue their studies.
“I am Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries. I feel humbled by the level of appreciation I receive from Nigerians for my good works in improving the lives of the less privileged in Nigeria.
“We all know the story of Happie Boys and how I intervened by sending them to Cyrus to study.
“Because of the dollar rate, which became a financial heavy burden in paying the fees of over 4000 persons in my scholarship program, I stopped funding to wait and see if the dollar will come down.
“I also communicated with every parent to give them the option either to return to Nigeria or continue their studies in Benin Republic.
“I have decided to forgive Happie Boys for whatever they posted against me or the church. On this note, I have restored their scholarship in Nigeria or Benin Republic,” he stated.
