September 06, (THEWILL) – Chelsea’s Champions League run got off to a poor start on Tuesday as Mislav Orsic led Dinamo Zagreb to an unexpected 1-0 victory over the fragmented Blues.

Just 13 minutes in, Orsic gave the home team a shock lead with a well-placed goal after racing onto Bruno Petkovic’s flick-on as Chelsea once again failed to make an offensive impact.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, in his Chelsea debut, struggled and was replaced on the hour, but Dinamo kept Thomas Tuchel’s team at bay with an outstanding defensive effort.

Chelsea must now play catch-up in what may turn out to be a difficult Champions League group after a subpar start in the Premier League, with games against Milan and Salzburg still to come.

Before that, on Saturday, a London derby against Fulham awaits in the English Premier League. On the other hand, Dinamo will play HNK Gorica in the Prva HNL the same day before going to Milan for the Champions League the following Wednesday.
