May 05, (THEWILL) – Victor Osimhen, the target of English Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester United, refused to discuss his future after helping Napoli secure their first Serie A title in 33 years.

Napoli drew 1-1 with Udinese to clinch the title, thanks in part to Osimhen’s 22 goals in 27 Serie A appearances this season. Napoli finished ahead of Lazio, Inter, Milan and Juventus with five games of the season still left to play.

Osimhen scored the goal that secured the championship and was asked about the achievement and his future after the game. He praised the team, staff and President for their efforts and achievements but was evasive when asked about his future.

He said: “It’s not the right time to discuss my future. I just want to enjoy this incredible title. I can’t wait to return to Napoli and hug the fans, I’m so happy for them.”

Chelsea are reportedly confident they can lure Osimhen to the EPL, although Napoli’s President Aurelio De Laurentiis has said the Nigerian is not for sale. Interested parties are likely to have to pay at least £100m for Osimhen, who has just over two years left on his contract and is believed to earn €4.5m per year.
