February 13, (THEWILL) – Napoli claimed a ninth consecutive home victory in Serie A with a 3-0 win over Cremonese.
Victor Osimhen, Eljif Elmas and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, all found the back of the net, helping the Partenopei temporarily go 16 points clear at the top of the table. The match was a high-energy affair, with both teams creating chances in the opening minutes.
On his birthday, Kvaratskhelia broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute with a drilled shot from the left that beat the Cremonese defense and went into the bottom corner. Osimhen doubled Napoli’s lead in the second half with a close-range finish from Kim Min-jae’s header, and Elmas sealed the victory with an angled drive from a one-two with Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
Despite the loss, Cremonese put up a strong fight, with goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi making several key saves to keep the scoreline close. The visitors threatened with dangerous crosses from the right, but Napoli’s defense held strong to secure the win.
With Inter set to play Sampdoria tomorrow, Napoli’s victory keeps them at the top of the table and puts pressure on their rivals to keep pace. They will hope to keep winning when they face Sassuolo on Friday. Cremonese are away to Torino on Saturday.
