October 14, (THEWILL) – Napoli and Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen, will go for an MRI scan to find out the severity of the injury he picked up in his country’s 2-2 draw in a friendly match against Saudi Arabia on Friday.
THEWILL recalls that the 24-year-old had to leave the game in the second half of the friendly at the Portimao stadium in Portugal.
Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro said Osimhen will have a scan and is likely to miss Monday’s friendly against Mozambique, also in Portugal.
“We don’t need to play him again whatever the outcome of the scan,” Peseiro said in an interview posted on social media by the Nigerian squad.
Osimhen has scored six goals in Serie A this season and was the league’s top scorer last season on the way to helping Napoli lift the Scudetto for the first time in more than 30 years.
