March 06 (THEWILL) – Victor Osimhen has been crowned the best foreign athlete of the year in Serie A by the Foreign Press Association.
The award, which was presented to Osimhen on Monday, is another global recognition for the Napoli striker. Earlier this year, he won the Power Horse Emerging Player of The Year award from Dubai Globe Soccer.
Osimhen has been in excellent form this season, scoring 19 goals in 21 league matches so far for Napoli. He has become the most sought-after striker in the world, having hit world-class status following repeated 10/10 performances.
The 24-year-old recently broke and set new records, becoming the only player in Napoli’s history to score in 8-straight Serie A games and the youngest player to score in 8 consecutive Serie A games alongside Roberto Muzzi.
The Foreign Press Association’s recognition of Osimhen’s incredible form is well-deserved. Napoli took to their Twitter handle to both confirm and celebrate Osimhen’s achievement with this latest award after he beat off competition from Gavi for the emerging player of the year award.
