April 16, (THEWILL) – Richard Okekenwa, older brother to Osinachi Nwachukwu’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, has revealed that he has not spoken to or seen Peter in the last 20 years.
“He doesn’t call me, I don’t have anything to do with him.”
He added that Peter’s real name is Peter Echijekwu Okekenwa. When his father died, he refused to come for the funeral. Even when his father’s in-law also died, he didn’t attend the funeral as well.
He also said that the day Peter married Osinachi was the day he saw him last. He further stated that he heard about Osinachi’s death some days after it happened, when his own children called him to inform him. He revealed that Peter hasn’t called personally to tell him about his wife’s death.
Okekenwa’s wife also corroborated her husband’s claim. She said she has not set eyes on Osinachi since she got married. The day she called her, she was with her husband so she couldn’t really talk.
She added that she was the one who registered Osinachi in their women’s meeting in the village.
Meanwhile, an autopsy has been conducted on the late singer to ascertain the cause of her death. It became necessary after rumour of domestic violence was allegedly stated as the cause of her death. However, the National Hospital Abuja has stated that the autopsy report conducted on the body of the late singer will only be released by the police.
