SAN FRANCISCO, August 07, (THEWILL) – Hundreds of Nigerians led by Charles Oputa, alias Charly Boy, has protested at the entrance of the Aso Presidential Villa, Abuja, calling for the resignation or immediate return of President Muhammadu Buhari, who has been in London for a medical treatment since over 90 days.
Gathering under the auspices of #OurMumuDonDo movement, they gave their central message as: “Resume or resign, Nigerians say enough is enough”, even as the banner and placards they wielded have messages like: “Buhari, where are?”, “President Buhari, we want to see you,” and “We are taking Nigeria back, We must make Nigeria work for us”.
#OurMumuDonDo movement, which said it will be having a daily sit-out in both Nigeria and London to demand the prompt return or resignation of Buhari, commenced action on Monday with processions from the Unity Fountain to the entrance of Aso Villa in Nigeria by 9am and at the Abuja House in London by 11am (UK time).
Also leading the Nigerian leg of the protest is the former director, new media to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and National Co-ordinator, Foundation for True Freedom and Good Leadership, Prince Deji Adeyanju; Publicity Secretary, OurMumuDonDo Movement, Mr. Adebayo Raphael; Convener, Coalition in Defence of Nigerian Democracy and Constitution, CDNDC, Ariyo-Dare Atoye; and John Danfulani for Concerned Nigerians among others.
The London version is led by Comrade Chidi Cali, Barrister Bob and several others. Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke among others equally joined the protests in Nigeria. The groups are demanding to know the whereabout of Buhari, his return or resignation and they are equally asking that Nigeria be made work for Nigerians.
