SAN FRANCISCO, August 07, (THEWILL) – Wife of the President, Aisha, on Sunday quietly left Nigeria for the United Kingdom where her husband, Muhammadu Buhari, has been receiving medical attention since May 7, villa sources say.
Aisha Buhari, who only returned to Nigeria from London last Thursday, had insisted that her husband was recuperating fast and will soon be back to Nigeria.
Upon her return to Nigeria from London last week, she proceeded to Owerri, the Imo State capital, where she attended the annual August Meeting organised by the wife of the state governor, Nkechi Okorocha.
No official statement has been issued on the President wife’s Sunday trip, unlike the practice in her previous trips to be with her husband.
The Director of Information to the Wife of the President, Suleiman Haruna, had in a statement on July 2, announced that the “Wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, left for London, United Kingdom on Sunday, July 2, 2017, to visit her husband who is on medical vacation.
“She will convey to the President the best wishes of Nigerians and their fervent prayers for his quick recovery,” it read in part.
The latest trip makes it the third time Mrs. Buhari would be visiting her ailing husband since he left Nigeria for his second medical vacation.
