
The Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), has announced the result of last Saturday’s local government election, with the Peoples Democratic Party winning all the 23 chairmanship seats in the state.
Announcing the result in Makurdi on Sunday, the chairman of the Commission, Dr Tersoo Loko, said the PDP also won in all the Councillorship positions.
According to him, other political parties like All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Labour Party (LP), also participated in the election, but failed to win any seat in the election.
While describing the election as the most peaceful in the history of the state, Loko commended the electorate for coming out in their numbers to exercise their civic responsibility.
He commended the media, security agents, political parties and other stakeholders for their cooperation that led to the successful conduct of the election.
