
August 15, (THEWILL) – The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), were forced to put their differences aside and come together, when the daughter of a former governor of Jigawa State and one of the founding fathers of Peoples Democratic Party, Sule Lamido, decided to marry the son of an APC chieftain in Zamfara State.
Lamido’s daughter, Surayya, tied the knot with Yazid Danfulani, the Commissioner of Commerce and Industries in the state.
The wedding Fatiha, which was held on Saturday, at Lamido’s country home in Baimana town, Birnin Kudu local government area, was presided over by Khakifa Suleiman, the Imam of Bamaina, who received the N100,000 paid as the bride price.
PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, served as the bride’s trustee, while the deputy governor of Zamfara, served as the groom’s trustee.
The wedding Fatiha was witnessed by top politicians including Atiku Abubakar’s running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, Inuwa Yahaya, Gombe State governor, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State; the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu and members of the party’s Board of Trustees, led by Walid Jibril.
Other dignitaries present were former Vice President, Namadi Sambo former National Security Adviser, Aliyu Gusau and former ministers of Special Duties and Police Affairs, Tanimu Turaki and Adamu Maina, as well as former governors of Bauchi, Gombe and Kaduna, among others.
