April 30, (THEWILL) – Riccardo Orsolini smashed home a first-half penalty to give Bologna the lead in their Serie A clash against Juventus on Sunday, which finished one goal apiece.
Juventus were hoping to take advantage of Lazio’s loss to Inter this weekend and climb to second place in the Serie A table, but Orsolini’s strike left them fearing the very real potential of their fourth straight league defeat.
The hosts’ lead was preserved by a spectacular double save from goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski, who denied Juve’s Nicolo Fagioli twice in quick succession. Juve were then awarded a penalty just after the half-hour mark after Arkadiusz Milik was fouled by Jhon Lucumi. Still, Skorupski saved Milik’s spot-kick with ease to preserve their lead through the first half.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side did not return home empty-handed as Milik made amends for his miss in the second half, lashing a brilliant penalty into the bottom corner to level the scoreline just after the hour-mark. Both sides rang in the changes to find the winner but even the introduction of Dusan Vlahovic was not enough to get another goal.
Despite chances for both sides, the game ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving Juve below Lazio in the table and just three points ahead of Inter, Milan and Roma in fourth, fifth and sixth places respectively.
