April 17, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid are reportedly looking to revamp their squad in the upcoming offseason.

Los Blancos are currently in second place in La Liga, trailing Barcelona by 11 points with just nine games remaining in the season. Despite being in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, Real Madrid’s depth has been put to the test this season.

Club President, Florentino Perez, has, therefore, set his sights on four Chelsea players as potential transfer targets. Reece James, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, and Mateo Kovacic are all on his radar. While the latter three are out of contract in 2024, which would make them free agents if they do not re-sign, James’ current contract runs through 2025.

Perez is reportedly looking to take advantage of Chelsea’s absence from next season’s UCL and capitalise on their recent struggles. Kovacic, who previously spent three seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Mount, who has drawn interest from several top clubs, are among the most sought-after of the quartet.

However, Chelsea have remained confident about their chances of retaining Mount. Another round of negotiations has been scheduled for the coming weeks and the Blues’ new managerial plans are believed to be impressive enough to convince Mount to stay.
