October 16, (THEWILL) — Everton Football Club has confirmed that goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, has committed his future to the Merseyside outfit by signing a new four-year contract. The England international will remain at Hill Dickinson Stadium until June 2029, adding two years to his existing agreement.
Since arriving from Sunderland in 2017, Pickford has established himself at the club with 326 appearances and 80 England caps. The 31-year-old recently reached 300 English Premier League matches for Everton in the fixture against Crystal Palace, becoming only the second goalkeeper to achieve this figure for the club after Tim Howard’s 354. He also matched David Seaman’s record of being the second English goalkeeper to make 325 top-flight appearances for one club.
International form has been equally impressive, with Pickford setting a Three Lions record of nine consecutive clean sheets during the October break, helping England qualify for the 2026 World Cup. The Toffees currently sit eighth in the EPL table following seven matches of the campaign.
Speaking to Evertontv, Pickford stated his satisfaction with the extension. “I think the dark days are behind us, and it is about building that momentum now,” he said. The goalkeeper emphasised his desire to establish a lasting legacy at the club and expressed his determination to return Everton to European competition.
Looking ahead, Pickford outlined ambitions shared by the squad under current management. “We want to have that direction and, hopefully, one day we will lift some silverware,” he said. The Washington-born stopper described his time on Merseyside as transformative for both himself and his family since joining eight years ago.
