May 15, (THEWILL) – Paul Pogba is facing another setback as he is set to miss two to three weeks due to a thigh injury, according to tests conducted on Monday.

The Juventus midfielder re-injured his left thigh during Sunday’s match against Cremonese, which was his first competitive start of the season. The incident occurred when he took a shot, forcing him to leave the field after just 23 minutes, with his face concealed under his shirt as pained tears flowed.

Following examinations at the club’s medical center, the Old Lady confirmed the presence of an injury to the right femoral muscle of Pogba’s left thigh. The recovery period for this type of injury typically ranges from 15 to 20 days, as revealed by a source within the club. This timeframe indicates that Pogba may have a chance to return for France’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Gibraltar on June 16 and Greece on June 19.

However, his availability for Juventus’ final Serie A match on June 4 remains uncertain. Throughout this season, Pogba has been plagued by injuries. After his transfer from Manchester United last summer, he missed a significant portion of the season due to a right knee injury sustained during pre-season.

After initially opting against surgery in order to participate in the World Cup, Pogba’s recovery did not progress as anticipated, preventing him from representing France in their thrilling World Cup final against Argentina. Although he made a comeback in February, he experienced another setback with a right thigh injury, leading to sporadic appearances as a substitute before his recent start on Sunday.
