March 17, (THEWILL) – Chelsea manager Graham Potter has dismissed recent criticisms of his personality after a club event on Thursday night showcased his lighter side.
Despite being under constant pressure since his appointment in September, Potter’s team have started to turn the corner with recent wins in the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
Potter’s positive attitude was on full display at the event, where he thanked the club’s fans for their support and joked that the team will “try and win the f****** Champions League!” Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta also expressed confidence in the team’s abilities, stating that other teams should be worried about them.
The Blues will face off against Everton on Saturday, with three points potentially helping them close the gap on the Premier League’s top six. Chelsea’s potential opponents in the quarter-finals of the Champions League include Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City – the latter of whom lost to the Blues in the 2021 final.
