July 08, (THEWILL) – A faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Martin Amaewhule, has given the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, a 7-day ultimatum to re-present the 2024 budget.
The order was issued on Monday, at its resumed plenary following an Appeal Court judgment that vacated the ruling restraining the defected lawmakers from parading themselves or sitting as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly
THEWILL reports that Fubara had previously presented the budget to the House of Assembly when current Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, presided as Speaker.
Meanwhile, the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led faction of the Rivers Assembly loyal to Governor Fubara, on Monday, screened and confirmed Barr. Emmanuel Frank-Fubara as Commissioner-designate.
Emmanuel, a legal practitioner, hails from Abonnema in Akuku-Toru LGA of Rivers State.
