May 03, (THEWILL) – Paris Saint-Germain experienced their second consecutive Ligue 1 loss after falling 2-1 to Strasbourg at Stade de la Meinau on Saturday. The victory propelled Liam Rosenior’s team to fourth position in the league table with just two fixtures remaining in the 2025 season.
Strasbourg opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Mamadou Sarr’s header from an inswinging corner deflected off Lucas Hernandez into the net.
The hosts doubled their advantage during first-half stoppage time through Felix Lemarechal, who curled a magnificent shot into the top corner beyond goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.
PSG responded immediately after the interval when Bradley Barcola, registering his 14th league goal of the campaign, burst down the left flank and beat Djordje Petrovic to reduce the deficit.
Despite fielding a significantly altered lineup, the Ligue 1 champions pressed for an equaliser in the closing stages of the match.
Goncalo Ramos missed a close-range header opportunity for PSG, while Petrovic made an excellent save to deny the forward during stoppage time.
Strasbourg, now unbeaten in 11 consecutive matches, held firm to claim all three points against the league champions.
The result further cements Strasbourg’s push for Champions League qualification next season, while PSG, having already claimed the Ligue 1 title, will look to return to winning ways in their remaining fixtures before the conclusion of the 2025 campaign.
