November 11, (THEWILL) – PSG Femeni midfielder Aminata Diallo has been released without trial while French authorities investigate an attack on her teammate, Kheira Hamraoui.
Diallo was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the incident, as THEWILL reported. Another individual was also arrested together but both have now been released.
The attack occurred following a team get-together. According to a relative of Hamraoui’s, Hamraoui went to a team meal near the Bois de Boulogne in Paris and went home with some team members, including Diallo, who was driving.
Two masked guys approached the car about 10 pm. One of them managed to pry open the passenger door and removed former Barcelona footballer Hamraoui from the vehicle. Before exiting the scene, these men attacked the player’s legs with an iron rod.
The player was taken to a Poissy hospital and treated for injuries to her hands and legs. As a result, she was unable to participate in PSG’s 4-0 Champions League win over Real Madrid on Tuesday.
The French authorities will continue their investigation to determine those involved.
