February 20, (THEWILL) – Ryan Flamingo netted the decisive goal in extra time as PSV Eindhoven overcame Juventus 4-3 on aggregate to advance to the Champions League last 16.
The Dutch side showed remarkable determination after trailing 2-1 from the first leg in Turin.
Following a subdued opening half, PSV broke the deadlock eight minutes after the restart through Ivan Perisic, who drove a low shot into the far corner.
The 36-year-old Croatian made history by becoming the oldest player to score in both legs of a UCL knockout tie.

This victory marks the first time PSV have progressed in a UCL knockout tie since defeating Arsenal in February 2007, and their first advancement after losing the first leg.
For Juventus, the defeat ends an extraordinary record of 20 consecutive successful knockout ties when winning the first leg – a streak dating back to the 1978/1979 season.
Peter Bosz’s PSV side maintained attacking momentum throughout the contest and fully deserved their place in the next round.
