
June 19 (THEWILL) – US rapper, Milton Powell, aka Big Pokey, has died after collapsing during a performance in Texas.
The artist was performing at a Juneteenth-themed event in a bar on Saturday, when he fell backwards on stage.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately died on Sunday.
A video, which surfaced online, showed Powell suddenly falling backwards with his microphone in hand while performing at the bar in Beaumont.
Powell was most recognised for being a founding member of the iconic Houston-based hip-hop group, Screwed Up Click.
He charted in the Billboard Hot 100 when he appeared on the Paul Wall single, ‘Sittin Sidewayz’ in 2005, and in 2022, he featured on Megan Thee Stallion’s Southside, ‘Royalty Freestyle’.
