SAN FRANCISCO, April 04, (THEWILL) – Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score in 10 successive Champions League games as he struck twice for holders Real Madrid in a 3-0 win at Juventus in Tuesday’s quarter-final first leg.
The Portuguese grabbed the opening goal in Turin after just three minutes as Isco had the freedom of the left wing, looks up and picks out Ronaldo who slams a toe-poke into the top corner!
He added a second at the 64th minute with a sensational bicycle kick beating Juventus’ Italian goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon that even got the Juventus fans applauding.
With the goal, Ronaldo has scored 14 goals in this season’s competition.
Juventus forward Paulo Dybala was sent off on 66 minutes before Ronaldo set up Marcelo to cap the rout at the 72nd minute.
It’s a brilliant goal from Real which is started by Marcelo on the left side. Isco and Ronaldo are both involved and the ball is slipped through the middle for Marcelo, who chips over Buffon and then finishes from a few yards out.
The win leaves Real Madrid in complete control of the tie going into the second leg in Madrid on April 11.
In Spain, Sevilla lost 1-2 to visitors Bayern Munich.
Sorabia made no mistake in the 32nd minute as he beats Bernat to the ball at the far post. He takes a touch before finding the back of the net to give the hosts the lead.
Bayern equalised at the 37th mutate through an own goal as Ribery’s cross deflects off Navas, wrong-footing the goalkeeper Soria, who couldn’t claw the ball back at his near post.
Thiago got the winning goal for Bayern in the 68th minute with a header from a cross from Ribery.
