Real Sociedad’s Nigerian striker, Umar Sadiq, has taken a crucial step in his road to recovery after suffering a severe injury in September 2022.
Sadiq, who joined Real Sociedad from Almeria in the summer of 2022, was seen undergoing rehabilitation at the club’s Zubieta training ground in Spain. The 24-year-old had shown flashes of brilliance during his time with Real Sociedad before the injury cut short his run in the team. The club has struggled for goals in recent games, with just one win in their last five games.
The addition of Sadiq’s pace, power, and aerial ability to the team could provide them with a different dimension in attack. In a video released by Real Sociedad on their social media channels, Sadiq was seen doing all sorts of exercises in the gym to strengthen the right knee in which he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Despite the setback, the Nigerian forward has remained positive and committed to his recovery, working closely with the team’s physiotherapists. Real Sociedad will be hoping for a speedy return to action for Sadiq as they push for a top-four finish in La Liga.
