January 09, (THEWILL) — Arsenal have finalised a new five-year contract extension with winger Bukayo Saka that will keep the England international at the club until summer 2031. The 24-year-old was previously tied down until June 2027, but negotiations have concluded with fresh terms that reflect his standing among the English Premier League’s leading players.
The Hale End Academy graduate joined Arsenal aged seven and has made more than 250 first-team appearances since his 2018 debut, contributing 77 goals and 78 assists. Last season he registered 20 goals and 14 assists across all competitions, though a December hamstring injury disrupted the team’s title challenge. In the 2022/2023 campaign he managed 15 goals and 11 assists.
This term Saka has seven goals in 27 matches, with Arsenal sitting top of the EPL table alongside a perfect Champions League record and staying unbeaten at home. The deal follows recent contract agreements reached with William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly. Manager Mikel Arteta has built his attacking system around the winger, who has earned 48 caps for his country.
The extension removes any uncertainty over Saka’s future before he entered the final year of his previous deal. Top European clubs would have monitored his situation had contract talks stalled, but the player remained committed to his boyhood side throughout discussions.
At 24, Saka became the seventh-youngest player to reach 100 combined Premier League goals and assists in October. He is expected to play a prominent role for England at the 2026 World Cup, with Arsenal favourites to end their wait of more than two decades for a league title this season.N
