May 25, (THEWILL) – In the midst of a contract dispute, Liverpool striker, Mohamed Salah, has stated that he will “for sure” remain with the club next season.

Last weekend, Salah earned the English Premier League golden boot for the third time in his career, this time as a joint-winner with Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min with 23 goals.

However, Salah only has a year left on his contract, and Liverpool and his representatives have been at odds for a long time. It has fueled rumours that he may move to Real Madrid, especially after Kylian Mbappe turned them down to stay at PSG.

But, when asked by media ahead of the UEFA Champions League final against Madrid, the 29-year-old said: “I don’t focus on the contract at the moment. It’s about the team. It’s a really important week for us. I want to win the Champions League again. I want to see Hendo [Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson] with that trophy in his hands again.”

Pushed on the issue of playing for Liverpool next season he said: “I’m staying next season for sure.”

It is the kind of news that will please the Liverpool management and they can now try to reach an agreement on a wage that both sides can agree with.
