July 27, (THEWILL) – In order to complete his transfer to OGC Nice, seasoned goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel, has reached a personal agreement with the Ligue 1 side.
With 479 appearances for Leicester City, Schmeichel is the third-most in the club’s history. He has also won the Premier League and FA Cup with the team, but after failing to reach an agreement on terms for a new contract at the King Power Stadium, the 35-year-old has agreed a deal with Nice ahead of a move to Ligue 1.
Due to only having one year left on his current deal, Leicester City is happy for Schmeichel to go and they left the choice of the player’s future up to him. Schmeichel will be playing outside of England for the first time since 2007, when he was on loan at Scottish club, Falkirk.
Throughout his lengthy career in England, the goalkeeper has played for teams including Manchester City, Darlington, Bury, Cardiff City, Coventry City, Notts County, Leeds United, and Leicester.
