BEVERLY HILLS, July 13, (THEWILL) – The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central District in the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, says he is yet to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) despite his political group’s announcement that it has pulled out of the party.

Sani made the clarification in a social media post Friday, a few hours after the group alongside his fellow senator from Kaduna, Othman Hankuyi, who has also had a running battle with Governor Nasiru el-rufai, made the announcement.

Sani and Hankuyi belong to the APC Akida faction of the party in the state.

“Clarification; I’m yet to leave the Broom City FC for the Umbrella United or any other club on the premier league,” he said in a Facebook post.

“Discussion and consultations are ongoing. If such will happen, it will be backed by a signed formal letter to the club management; and a formal announcement on the side of the pitch by myself. Thank you.”

The APC has been trying to manage its internal crises across the states with minimal success for far. A group of aggrieved members announce the formation of a splinter group which calls itself the Reformed All Progressives Congress, R-APC.
