December 02, (THEWILL) – Juventus earned a dramatic 2-1 victory away at Monza, on Friday night, thanks to a 94th minute winner that saw them move to the top of the Serie A table. The match saw end-to-end action, with Monza equalising in stoppage time before Juventus immediately responded to grab all three points.

The first half started eventfully, with Juventus awarded a penalty in the 9th minute after Georgios Kyriakopoulos fouled Federico Chiesa in the area. Dusan Vlahovic saw his weak penalty saved, but followed up to fire the rebound which was incredily clawed off the line by Monza’s Michele Di Gregorio. Juventus did open the scoring minutes later however, with Adrien Rabiot powering home a header from a 12th minute corner.

Monza controlled possession for most of the second half but struggled to create clear openings. As the match reached injury time, however, substitute Valentin Carboni found the net with a cross that snuck in at the back post to make it 1-1.

The home fans’ celebrations were short-lived though, as Federico Gatti made up for an earlier miss by rifling in a rebound in the 94th minute to secure a 2-1 Juventus victory.

The dramatic win sees Juventus move onto 37 points at the top of Serie A after 15 matches, overtaking rivals Inter Milan on goal difference. Inter can return to first place when they face defending champions Napoli on Sunday.
