However, his anticipated arrival has been accompanied by controversy, sparked by comments from Italian Sports Minister Andrea Abodi. In a recent interview, Abodi addressed the issue, denying allegations of homophobia and clarifying his statement that he “didn’t like ostentation.”
The minister asserted that he was referring to what he perceived as “excessive ostentation” during LGBTQ Pride marches, rather than individuals expressing their sexual orientation.
