August 22, (THEWILL) – Nigerian winger, Moses Simon, has made his return to competitive football for FC Nantes, after recovering from an injury. The Super Eagles player featured in the team’s opening match of the 2024/2025 season against Toulouse.
Simon had been sidelined towards the end of the previous season, missing several matches for both his club and the Nigerian national team. He gradually regained fitness through preseason training and friendly matches.
The 29-year-old expressed his joy at being back on the pitch for an official game. “Sunday was my return to action with FC Nantes,” Simon stated. “The best way to get back, the feeling of the field after my injury.”
Simon also thanked supporters for their encouragement during his recovery period. “A big thank you for your support,” he said, adding, “We are Nantes” to show his commitment to the club.
FC Nantes will hope Simon’s return can boost their performance in the new season. The Nigerian forward has been a key player for the French side since joining in 2019, contributing goals and assists to the team’s attack.
