November 20, (THEWILL) – Amapiano pioneer, Oupa John Sefoka, aka DJ Sumbody is dead. The music artiste was shot dead in Johannesburg on Sunday morning.
His death was confirmed by Sumsounds Music in a statement on Sunday, according to News24.
“Artiste and musician DJ Sumbody has died. Details of his untimely death cannot be released, but the artiste named Oupa John Sefoka, allegedly ran into an unfortunate incident that led to his passing in the early hours of Sunday, 20 November”, the statement reads.
DJ Sumbody was traveling on Woodmead road, when unknown gunmen sprayed his vehicle with a hail of bullets killing him and one of his bodyguards instantly.
The statement adds that the Sefoka family, kindly requested privacy as investigations into his untimely death was still ongoing.
He was on his way from a performance from Woodmead and was billed to perform at the All White Veuve Clicquot Picnic, on Sunday.
