December 08, (THEWILL) – The Bayelsa State Athletics Association has finalised plans to host a one-day trial for athletes vying to represent the state in various track and field events at the upcoming National Sports Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The trials are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the **Samson Siasia Sports Complex**, Ovom, Yenagoa, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Athletes will compete in the 100 metre, 400 metres, 800 metres, Long Jump, and Javelin events.
According to a statement released by the Secretary of the Bayelsa State Athletics Association, Tariye Jackson Bidei, the trials will feature both morning and evening sessions to accommodate preliminary rounds and finals.
The association has called on athletics enthusiasts and sports lovers to attend and cheer the athletes as they battle for a spot on the state’s team.
